The video shows high school engineering and computer science students were recruited to help optimize growing conditions in a new soil grow dome. The students were tasked with solving challenges such as regulating temperature and humidity, as well as irrigation to ensure plants receive the correct amount of water.
Students were organized into teams of three. Over four weeks, each team was to design, prototype, test, and present solutions. The best solutions were to be chosen by the soil staff to enhance their work and make the grow dome more productive.
